Vinyl fence panelsAbout panels Vinyl fences are a popular choice for owners of homes, restaurants and farming applications because of their ability to withstand the elements with very little maintenance. Vinyl panels are manufactured to resemble whitewashed wood fencing, and it is also available in gray and tan. Vinyl does not swell or warp, and there are also no splinters, burrs, slivers or chips in vinyl fences, unlike wooden fences. There might be slight fading with vinyl products, but it will weather uniformly, and won't rust, rot, peel, or blister. Unlike wood products, vinyl doesn't require stains and a sealant. Additionally, vinyl fencing has been designed so that no nails, screws, or sharp edges can be seen. Vinyl fences are stain resistant. If it needs to be cleaned, common-cleaning products should do the job. According to the vinyl industry, vinyl fences aren't adversely affected by rock salt or chemicals used in snow and ice removal. In cold and snowy conditions, vinyl becomes less flexible. It shouldn't crack or break, unless it is hit directly with a heavy force. Changes in temperature affect vinyl as it does wood and other materials; vinyl will expand and contract somewhat when the temperature changes.
