Vinyl fence buying informationEverything about vinyl fencing Much like PVC decking, a PVC fence stands up well to the elements. You don't have to worry about spending a day painting a fence instead of watching a good football game because a PVC fence doesn't need any painting--pretty much ever! Living in a place with a lot of rain and snow in the winter and really hot and humid sun in the summer meant painting the fence every year if we wanted it to look nice. A PVC fence, because of how it is made, resists weather damage, eliminating the need for painting. This made me very happy because, in addition to saving money on paint, I didn't have to spend a couple of Sundays a year painting a fence. The other economical
quality of a PVC fence is that while a wooden fence may splinter and
need parts replaced every year or so, a PVC fence requires little
maintenance. Once it's up, it's up and you don't have to go through
costly repairs of one or two damaged sections a year. You get a nice
fence that the neighbors are jealous of and no one is the wiser about
how little effort you put into the thing. Vinyl privacy fencesIn order for a fence to be a privacy fence it should be at least seven feet tall. You might be able to make it taller unless local laws say otherwise. A privacy fence usually can't be seen through because the boards are side by side. This rule applies to all parts of the fence except at the top. Usually, the tops of these fences have some sort crisscrossing pattern or some ornate design. Too much fancy detail is not recommended. The fancier the fence the more attention it will draw, thereby defeating its purpose. Read more about the vinyl privacy fence here.
One of the advantages of vinyl fencing over wooden fencing is that it comes with a finish and ready to install. No painting or waterproofing is necessary with vinyl products. Vinyl fencing with UV inhibitors allows the color to retain its luster and shine in spite of harsh outdoor conditions. Most vinyl fences are offered in lighter shades. White is the most popular color, but you can also get light gray and a light tan. These colors are consistent from one piece to the other, allowing your fence to blend seamlessly and also with any accessories you may wish to add. Read more about vinyl fence colors
